"You really did help to create a fun atmosphere and make our guests feel special. Thank you!" --Sue Spielman, Coordinator of The Friendly Visitor Program
On Sunday, December 9th, Manginah volunteered at the Jewish Family and Children Services (JFCS) in Waltham. We sang Modeh Ani, V'eich Shelo, Ani Chavatzelet HaSharon, Mashehu Chadash, and Chelek Mimcha (all of which are featured on our new CD!) for the elderly and volunteers coming in for a special Chanukkah celebration! This was such a fun performance for us - we've noticed that our volunteer performances are always sweet and gratifying. People really appreciate free entertainment! We especially loved talking to all of them afterward about our music and our ambitions for the future!
Picture to come!
Our Fall Semester Show went swimmingly! We had a great time creating a scintillating fall atmosphere (complete with glittery leaves and a paper-cut tree). The Brandeis Justice took pictures, friends, family, and other a cappella groups came to support us and there were big smiles all around!
We debuted our newest song, Mai Nahar by Idan Raichel, featuring Gabriella Feingold (check out our repertoire to listen to the original - it's a great song). Matt Sidell and Racheli Berkovitz sang their rendition of Ani Ma'amin (previously sung by Adam Lapetina and Louis Polisson) and wowed the crowd with their rapping skills and cute glances and dance moves. And Coby Fleischman stole the show with a fan-favorite, Ah Ah Ah by Efrat Gosh! We also started pre-sales for Olot B'Manginot, which will be released at the end of the semester!
A shout out to alumni Talia Salzberg, Louis Polisson, Jen Levy, Harrison Bannet, Adam Shain, and Alison Judd for coming out! Congratulations to the executive board, Jessica Pullen, Hillary Schulman, and Matt Sidell for successfully executing such a wonderful event!
